What's free, and stays free to build

Describing your business, watching the site build itself, editing it, adding products with ₹ pricing, connecting COD and UPI, publishing on a yourname.kartrocket.ai address - none of this costs money. You can build a complete, working storefront and share the link the same afternoon without paying anyone.

There are also no charges for the things that trip up other platforms: no app-store fees, no per-feature unlocks, no charge for extra products or pages. The commerce features - catalog, cart, checkout, order tracking, appointment or reservation flows - are part of the builder, not paid add-ons.

Courier charges: you pay when you ship

Shipping is a real, physical cost, so it isn't free - but you only incur it when an order actually needs to move. Kartrocket uses Shiprocket rates across 24,000+ serviceable pincodes, and the charge depends on weight, dimensions, pickup and delivery pincodes, and whether the order is prepaid or COD.

Two practical notes for planning. First, couriers bill on volumetric weight for bulky-but-light items, so a large pillow can cost more to ship than a small heavy tool - measure your parcels honestly. Second, COD shipments usually carry a small collection fee and remittance takes a few days, whereas prepaid money reaches you faster. Many sellers bake shipping into product prices or set a free-shipping threshold to keep checkout simple.

Payment-gateway fees: only on prepaid orders

When a customer pays online - UPI, card, or netbanking - the payment gateway takes a percentage. Rates vary by method and by your gateway agreement; UPI is typically the cheapest and cards a bit higher. It's a pass-through cost, not something Kartrocket adds on top.

Cash on Delivery is different: the customer pays cash at the door, so there's no gateway fee on that transaction - though, as noted above, COD carries its own courier collection and remittance considerations. Checkout on Kartrocket computes prices on the server, so totals can't be tampered with in the browser, whichever method your customer chooses.

Your own domain, if you want one

yourname.kartrocket.ai is a genuine, shareable address - plenty of sellers run on it for months. When you're ready for your own brand name, like yourstore.in, you buy that domain from a registrar and connect it. You pay the registrar their annual fee (commonly a few hundred to around a thousand rupees a year, depending on the extension); Kartrocket doesn't charge to connect it.

If you already own a domain from a previous website, you can point it here too. Nothing about your store is locked to the free subdomain.

About future paid plans

We'd rather be straight with you: Kartrocket is early, and paid plans may arrive later. If and when they do, we'll announce them transparently - what's included, what it costs, and what stays free - before anything changes for you. We won't quietly move a feature you rely on behind a paywall without telling you first.

We're not going to invent tiers on this page just to look established. What's true today is what's written above.
